Kennedy-Nixon Presidential Election

Since the presidential election of 1960, numerous allegations of widespread voter fraud in Illinois and Texas have emerged about the contest.

During the 1960 election, there were suspicions of fraud in Texas and evidence of fraud in Illinois. Nixon insisted he was robbed. As Slate reports, at a 1960 Christmas party, he was heard greeting guests by saying, “We won, but they stole it from us.” A grudge was born that lasted into the Watergate years and beyond. Mayor of Chicago Richard Daley was rumored to run a system of Chicago corruption alleged for delivering massive Democratic victories. These allegations of fraud created the lasting rumor of dead voters in Chicago.
